Rainy days in the Philippines are quite common, particularly during the monsoon season which runs from June to October. The country is located in the tropical region, and its climate is heavily influenced by the monsoon winds, which bring large amounts of rain, thunderstorms and strong winds. The heaviest rainfall typically occurs in the months of June to September, with August being the wettest month. These heavy rains can lead to flooding and landslides, which can cause damage to infrastructure and disrupt transportation. On the other hand, rainy days also bring relief from the hot and humid weather, and provide water for agriculture.
As a kid, we love playing in the rain. We can still be playing tag, patintero, basketball and/or simply just get drenched by the rain. This scent reminds me of the first time the rain hits the ground. The smell it releases reminds me of childhood in the Philippines.
